You Know You Had One

Yes, as much as you’d like to deny it, we had our own Jonas Brothers.

Donny and David, the two androgynous boys we postered on our walls and kissed nightly when we were just 11.

Well, actually, not me.  I was raised by older parents, and my first loves were Andy Williams and Bobby Darin, but I digress.

Just when you think kids have lost their minds over the “new” singers, you have to take a deep breath and think of how much we coveted the pop artists of our day.  I’m not proud of it, truly, I’m not.  I think it’s a girl thing.

Off to Napa for a few days for work…enjoy your week!

I am afraid I go waaay back. My teen idol was Mark Lindsay of Paul revere and The Raiders. I joined their fan club and became an official "Raider Rooter." (NOT to be confused with Roto Rooter) I still have my certificate of membership in that "all girls" (I'm sure!) club!
I was sure I was going to marry Leif Garrett. Thank heavens I didn't as he is now a heroin junkie and laughs at other idiots on True TV. But, my gosh, he was a pretty boy when he was young!

I was so in LOVE with Matt Dillion that I wrote a paper in Jr. High about my future as Mrs. Matt Dillion. My husband met him once at a bar and said he was the most flawless human he had ever seen...

For me it was Paul McCartney -- right up until he married that hussey Linda Eastman. (May God rest her sainted soul!) Then I wandered like a young harlot between David Cassidy (a milk and cookies date, David Soul (a beer and pizza ... and as it turns out, a restraining order date)and Englebert Humperdink (champagne and caviar date).

I have to say that for me it was The Beatles.. I loved listening to them-- watching them--- wishing I could see them in person.
