Confessions of a Bottle Lover

I collect art glass bottles.  I’m very particular.  They have to look like these, and have a color, not clear. And they MUST have the stopper.

I refuse to pay more than $15 a bottle, and will only be persuaded to pay more if I run across a set…

(which I only have once…bottles 003 but I only paid $30 for the set PLUS that light blue one above).
Don’t mind the dog treats, plants and other crap on the table. Thanks.

I also like “ruffly” dishes.  I have one in cobalt blue, pink, green and orange.  Always looking for other colors. Oh, and I have a couple of glass lamps too (current ones, not vintage). If you blow up the pictures and see how dusty they are, I shall ask you if you should like to visit and dust them for me.  I can’t keep up with it.  Thanks again.

Occasionally, I’ll pick up a piece of glass just because it calls my name.  At least I think it’s the glass talking to me…the voices…I hear voices…
Here are more of my bottles and dishes.

And a couple more.

The one on the right is actually a vase, I just loved the color, and I got it in trade for some stuff I gave my gay buds with a store. Thank god my bed was made when I took this pic. Too bad I can’t seem to clean off the dresser…
So I beg of you this – if you’re ever in a store and see one of these bottles in a color other than these (like dark blue or red, orange, etc.), and they are less than $20, please buy it for me and I will pay you for it plus shipping.  The pickin’s are slim here.

I'll keep my eyes open. I think I saw a turquoise blue one in a shop here. I don't know if it was new or vintage. I'll check and see if it's still around. Nice collection.
Ohhhkaaayyy let's fix those egregious typos this time!!

Beautiful! I never notice any like those around here either... =O

This is how I feel about my ugly handmade MCM pottery. I won't pay more than about $10 for each one. That's part of my own personal deal in collecting them. None of these well-known over-priced pottery works for MY house, no, I want all the unsung heros and unknowns of the art world of days of yor, to grace my shelves. =)
Whoa, I didn't follow all of that, but I think your glass is very beautiful.

Thanks again for your kind thoughts for Phantom.

Wow! Is it a hobby or an obsession?! LOL They are very pretty bottles. I buy bottles from time to time, but they are usually filled with liquer. LOL Actually, I'm not much of a drinker. I do on occasion. But I admire pretty glass artwork from time to time.

Yes, this would be an obsession! WOW! What a great collection you have Barbara. I will look around my 'neck of the woods' for this and let you know.
I can see how this can be a great diversion for you. I have so much depression glass I collected while looking after my mother-in-law. It really helps. Good on you.
Wow, you have quite a collection of beautiful bottles! I'll be on the lookout for them.

Holy Flippin Guacamole! That lightest blue one in the first pic is exactly like one my old man used to empty his change into at the end of each day!

He'd wait until it was about 1/2 way to 3/4 full, empty it, roll the coins, and take our family to Disneyland with it!

My how times have changed. For one.. people actually used real money! And two.. you could go to Disneyland for the day on 6 months of spare change rather than a years worth of saving!
