We have always loved Calvin and Hobbs. How can dogs be less than perfect? It is humans that need the improvement. Look at the mess they have made of things. Do you think the tradition of new years resolutions would have been invented by dogs? They were invented by humans, for humans. So make lots of resolutions, that way you have more to break.

Bet you can't break just one!

Calvin always says it so well! Lilac could have spoken the same words!

Happy New Year! May 2011 smile upon you!
When I grow up I want to be Calvin. No wait! I want to be Hobbes. Well, maybe Calvin...

Calvin and Hobbes are my heros! I still cry (ok, slight exageration) when I think of the day Bill Watterson retired Calvinand Hobbbes. I kept thinking he'd be back, but so far as I know he lives a life as a recluse, somewhere in the midwest.
Isn't this the little kid who pisses on Chevys and Fords and Dodges? He has become the patron saint of giant offroad pickups driven by testosterone maddened men! I just want to see him talking to Hobbes instead of him whizzing all over "the other guy's" truck! Happy New Year to one of my favorite people!!!!!!

I really love Calvin and Hobbs--THANKS for the grin today!!

I wish you good health and all the best for the New Year!!! :-)
Calvin and Hobbes is the BEST! I agree that is was a sad day when he retired, but I think that makes his work that much more special. I have ALL of his books - I would love to be able to have him sign them for me! That would be awesome. My New Years resolution is that Bill Watterson signs my books for me this year! I sure hope he's good at keeping his resolutions!

My one resolution is to take the dog for a full walk, every time, even first thing in the morning -- not just a quick dash out for a squat 'n' squirt -- no matter how much I want to go back to bed, no matter how cold it is. My pep talk to myself; You've got those flannel-lined jeans and the fur-lined hat, buddy -- suck it up for fifteen minutes. (The dog? She's a Husky. She doesn't mind the snow, not one little bit.)
