The Result of Retail Therapy

TA DA!

I am now the VERY proud owner of my very own Frigidaire Flair oven!

GEDC0808

This is a 1960 Custom Imperial, 40”, double oven with gull wing doors (they lift UP), 4 burner rocking piece of US Steel.  Made by General Motors (no kidding), this thing weighs 325 pounds, not including the cabinet it sits on.  The inside of the ovens are CHROME.

The shelf you see with a handle is actually a drawer that holds the burners.  You pull it out when you need it and push it in when you don’t.

I’ve been in heaven since I found it.  My bank account has been in hell.  While the oven was cheap, having a 220 line installed is not.  But who cares???  It works like a dream, and I needed a dream now didn’t I?

Oh Barbara!! It's gorgeous! My parents' friends had one of those babies in the 60's. That burner/drawer thingy is such a cool feature. I never realized that the inside of the oven was chrome though!! SCORE!!

Where did you find it? It's amazing! Are you cooking up a storm? Just in time for winter...chocolate chip cookies, beef stew, chicken soup. Do you ever leave your kitchen? I would probably plant myself in a chair and stare at it for hours.
